From meetings of the First Continental Congress to the adoption of the Declaration of Independence and more, Independence Hall symbolizes the birth of America. The Liberty Bell hung for almost a century in the Hall and rang for the last time in 1846 when it cracked for a second time. Since then Americans hold dear the Liberty Bell as a symbol of freedom.
